Empowering Therapy Services are passionate about supporting children with different communication or mealtime needs to access all environments. Our ultimate goal is to make ourselves obsolete - we believe that every family, organisation and educational setting should be given the skills to create an environment that is suitable for everyone.

KATIE COX
OWNER AND DIRECTOR
SENIOR SPEECH PATHOLOGIST
Katie is a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist who has worked in the disability setting since the NDIS first rolled out in South Australia. Katie is particularly passionate about the right every individual has to communicate, and supports settings in ensuring that every different communication style can be supported - including alternative communication systems such as key word sign, visual supports, PODD, and communication software such as Proloquo2go. Katie also completes work in the dysphagia space to support children with swallowing disorders, as well as picky eaters or problem feeders. She completes 1:1 therapy for ages 0-18 in the Adelaide metro area and Northern Suburbs, and regularly runs the trainings as listed on this site, as well as customised trainings to individual sites. In her spare time Katie enjoys hiking and trying new brunch spots.

Individual Therapy
We offer therapy for children aged 0-18 in the areas of:

Assessment and Reporting
We can complete initial and ongoing assessment for a range of communication needs. We are also able to complete oral eating and drinking care plans if required.

Training
We offer formal training across many different areas of communication and swallowing for schools, disability care settings and more.
FEES AND LOCATIONS
Empowering Therapy Services are able to accept NDIS clients who are Plan Managed or Self Managed, as well as private paying clients or clients using private health rebates. Fees are charged in line with the 2022-2023 NDIS Price Guide. These are currently:

Empowering Therapy Services is a mobile based clinic only. Travel is billed according to the NDIS price guide and is split between all clients for the day. We are available for home, school, childcare, and community visits. Please see the area map for details of service availability.
